There are currently 5,427 data centers in the U.S. which is over 10 times the amount of the next two top contributors of global AI infrastructure. There are plans to build about 3,000 more on American Soil with 1,500 already at various stages of development.
Here’s why we should be concerned:
• Data centers use massive amounts of energy which drains the power grids, causing an increase in utility rates for many people.
• They require a high level of water usage for cooling, often in water-scarce areas. The wastewater that they leave behind is highly contaminated, polluting local water sources and aquatic ecosystems.
• High levels of EMF radiation cause harm to all living beings around them - plants, animals, and people.
• They cause a significant rise in surface temperatures ranging from 3°F to 16°F. Temperature increases are detectable up to 6 miles from each data center.
• They create noise pollution from large cooling fans.
• They create light pollution from all-night lighting.
• Harmful levels of air pollution are produced by their diesel backup generators in power emergencies.
• They cover large swaths of land, displacing local wildlife.
There are currently 188 opposition groups fighting the construction of data centers in 40 states. $156 billion in data centers was blocked or stalled in 2025, and over 20 data centers were canceled in the first three months of 2026. This means that OUR VOICES MATTER and that WE CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE if we come together on a larger scale.
The primary goal of this website is to spread AWARENESS about the negative impacts of large-scale data centers in order to create the Change which is necessary to shift these agendas for a more sustainable future. We will do this in the following ways:
• Connecting isolated individuals who want to take action on a local level by creating more Unified fronts through Social Media
• Organizing Nationwide Peaceful Protests every other Saturday until Change is enacted
• Providing printable fliers and ideas for local communities to create their own in
order to spread the word on a local level
• Gathering signatures for a Nationwide Petition to demand a National Moratorium on all Hyperscale Data Center Development on U.S. Soil for environmental, health, and long-term economic impacts to be evaluated
